Registart maths is a PC based application that asks questions and takes the register. It provides a broad range of ways for engaging the whole class and focusing on maths topics. Registart Maths supports Key Stage 3 (KS3) Maths lessons on a daily basis, and is designed to be used on interactive whiteboards.
A separate version exist for Primary numeracy lessons. It is specifically aimed at Key Stage 2 (KS2). This version has the identical features of the the KS3 version, but the questions are designed to test at the Primary level.
It has been used daily in successful mathematics departments by teachers ranging from NQTs with strong IT backgrounds to computer novices in their retirement year. Registart maths has been written by a serving maths teacher and has been actively used in school since September 2005.
At the core of Registart maths is an electronic register. Class lists can be held in either Microsoft Excel files or in CSV files. Class lists can either be imported manually or by using the software's file import options.
By selecting the 'Registart' mode of operation (see modes of operation below) the teacher chooses one of his/her classes and a topic for the question, then the software with provide a multiple choice question to each pupil in turn (either randomly or in register order).
The software records whether pupils get questions right or wrong and also records any absences. Hence, Registart maths can also be used purely as an electronic register.
With the data logged by Registart, several tools are also built-in to analyse:
This data is a valuable source of 'assessment for learning' data.

The same content is used, whether doing the register or playing a game.
